How to choose a WhatsApp bot for a small business in Israel (2026)
A good WhatsApp bot for a small Israeli business answers in natural Hebrew, connects through Meta's official route, answers only from the business's information, can book appointments and hand over to a person, and keeps your number. With few enquiries, the free WhatsApp Business auto-messages are enough. For marketing broadcasts and large teams, WATI or respond.io fit better.
Updated: · Other tools' prices and features were checked on their official pages on 13 October 2026 (sources at the end). We wrote this guide and we are one of the tools in it — so we have tried to say where others fit better, too.
First: maybe you don't need a bot
The WhatsApp Business app is free and includes a greeting message, an away message and quick replies. If you get a few messages a day, reply within hours, and don't need to book from the chat — that's enough, and there's no reason to pay. The difference between the free auto-reply and a bot.
Seven things to check before you choose
-
1. Hebrew — test it yourself, not from the ad
Ask the bot ten real questions your customers send, with slang and shorthand, and one as a voice message. A bot that answers in translated-sounding Hebrew loses customers faster than a late reply.
-
2. An official connection, not a "parallel app"
According to WhatsApp's Help Center, using unofficial apps or linking your account to them violates the Terms of Service, and the account may be temporarily or permanently banned. Ask the vendor: does the connection go through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, or an approved Meta partner?
-
3. Where the answers come from — and what happens when it doesn't know
A bot that invents a price or promises a refund makes problems for you. Test it: ask something your information doesn't cover, and see whether it makes something up, or says someone from the team can answer and offers to hand over to a person.
-
4. Real booking
A bot that sends a link to a form is not a bot that checks your calendar and books itself. If appointments are the heart of the business, check that it offers only free times, and that customers can cancel and reschedule in the chat.
-
5. Handover and takeover
A customer who asks for a person should get one. Check that the bot stops in a conversation you took over, and that you are alerted when it hands one over.
-
6. The pricing model — and what it leaves out
Some charge by active contacts, some by users, some by messages. Separately, Meta charges for messages by message type. The costs, broken down for 2026.
-
7. Your number and the setup effort
Can you keep your existing number and keep replying from the app on your phone? Is setup a self-serve sign-up, or a project with a setup fee? And who updates the information when something changes — you, or a vendor you have to wait for?
The options, one by one
Dollar prices are as shown on each vendor's pricing page on 13 October 2026, before tax. Prices change; check the vendor's page before deciding.
WhatsApp Business auto-messages
- What it is:
- A greeting message (on a first message, or after 14 days without messages), an away message (always, on a schedule, or outside business hours) and quick replies you send with a shortcut.
- Price:
- The app is free.
- Fits:
- Few enquiries, and a human reply within hours.
- Worth knowing:
- Fixed text — it doesn't answer the question or book anything. Away messages go out only while the device has an internet connection.
Meta Business Agent (inside WhatsApp Business)
- What it is:
- Meta's own AI agent, set up from the app's Tools tab. It learns from past chats and content you add, and Meta documents a Google Calendar connection.
- Availability:
- According to WhatsApp's Help Center, currently available only to selected businesses in a limited number of countries, with a waitlist; not all languages are supported, and the language is set by the business's phone number.
- Price:
- Meta One business plans, from $14.99 a month, include "more access" to Meta Business Agent, according to Meta. On the WhatsApp Business Platform (API), Meta prices its messages by usage — about 4–5 US cents a message, according to Meta.
- Fits:
- A business that already has access and is happy with the answers. It is WhatsApp's built-in option, and worth trying if it is open to you.
ManyChat
- What it is:
- A chat automation platform — Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, TikTok, Telegram and more — with ManyChat AI on Pro and above.
- Price:
- Free up to 25 active contacts a month; Essential from $14 a month and Pro from $29 a month, billed annually. Pricing is by active contacts, and the final price depends on your billing country.
- Fits:
- Businesses whose leads come mostly from Instagram comments and DMs. ManyChat vs Ariko
WATI
- What it is:
- A team inbox, broadcasts, chatbots and Click-to-WhatsApp ads on the official connection.
- Price:
- Growth $59 a month (3 users) and Pro $119 a month (5 users), billed annually. According to WATI, messages are charged on top; their AI agents (Astra) are a separately priced add-on, and an extra WhatsApp number is $29 a month.
- Fits:
- A business with a sales team and regular marketing broadcasts to a customer list. WATI vs Ariko
respond.io
- What it is:
- A conversation platform for teams across several channels, with AI agents, workflows and integrations — including Google Calendar.
- Price:
- Starter $79 a month billed yearly (5 users), Growth $159. According to respond.io, WhatsApp fees are not included in any subscription — Meta charges them by usage. The pricing page also shows special pricing for Israeli businesses through sales.
- Fits:
- Teams handling enquiries from several channels that need routing, reports and integrations.
Israeli vendors and agencies
- What it is:
- A bot built for you as a project, usually with scoping, a setup fee and a monthly fee.
- Price:
- Varies widely between vendors, so we don't quote a number. Ask for a written quote that separates setup, subscription and Meta charges.
- Fits:
- A complex flow that needs to connect to existing systems, or a business that would rather someone else build and maintain it.
- Ask:
- Official connection? Whose name is the WhatsApp account in? What happens to the number and the chats if you leave? Who updates the information?
Ariko (us)
- What it is:
- A Hebrew-first WhatsApp bot for small businesses that answers only from the business's information, books into Google Calendar, and hands to a member of the team whatever it doesn't know. WhatsApp connects through a verified Meta partner, on your existing number.
- Price:
- Free $0 to build and use the test chat — No WhatsApp connection. Paid plans: Solo $99, Business $149, Growth $199, Scale $399 a month, before VAT. Only messages the business sends are counted.
- Fits:
- A small business that gets the same questions over and over, and wants someone to answer and book when it can't.
- Doesn't fit:
- Marketing broadcasts to lists, Instagram automation, group-class sign-ups with a places limit, or a separate calendar per staff member.
So which one?
- A few messages a day, and you answer yourself? The free WhatsApp Business auto-messages.
- Leads come from Instagram? ManyChat is built for that.
- A team, marketing broadcasts and several channels? WATI or respond.io.
- Got access to Meta Business Agent? Try it on your real questions.
- A small business, repeating questions and a calendar? That is exactly what Ariko does — and you can test it free before deciding.
Frequently asked questions
Which WhatsApp bot suits a small business?
It depends where your enquiries come from and what has to happen with them. Check against the seven criteria above, and try each tool on ten of your real questions before paying.
Is there a free WhatsApp bot?
The WhatsApp Business app's auto-messages are free, but they are fixed text. ManyChat has a free plan up to 25 active contacts a month. With Ariko you build and test free in a test chat, and WhatsApp connects on paid plans.
Can a WhatsApp bot get my number banned?
According to WhatsApp's Help Center, unofficial apps violate the Terms of Service, and the account may be banned. A tool that connects through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform works within Meta's rules — and still has to follow Meta's messaging policy.
Can I keep my number and keep replying from my phone?
With some tools, yes. With Ariko, if the number is on the WhatsApp Business app, you connect it by scanning a QR code, and the app on your phone keeps working as usual.
Which WhatsApp bot books into Google Calendar?
Ariko checks Google Calendar for free times and books, cancels and reschedules from the chat. respond.io lists a Google Calendar integration, and Meta documents connecting Meta Business Agent to Google Calendar.
How long does setup take?
With self-serve tools — minutes to hours, depending on how much information you enter. With Ariko you build the bot and talk to it in the test chat in one sitting; the WhatsApp connection, on paid plans, is done from inside the product. An agency project takes longer.
