How much does a WhatsApp bot cost for a business in Israel? (2026)
A WhatsApp bot for an Israeli business costs three things: a monthly platform subscription, Meta's message charges, and sometimes a one-time setup fee. Meta's first 1,000 replies a month per number are free; after that each reply to an Israeli customer costs $0.0053. With Ariko you build and test free; WhatsApp starts at $99 a month before VAT.
Updated: · Meta's rates are taken from Meta's pricing page and rate card (effective 1 October 2026), and other tools' prices from their pricing pages — all checked on 13 October 2026. Sources at the end.
The three components
Monthly
Platform subscription
The software that runs the bot: the replies, the inbox, the calendar. Priced by messages, users or contacts.
By usage
Meta's charges
Meta charges for messages the business sends on the official connection, by message type. Messages customers send are not charged.
One-time
Setup
Zero with self-serve sign-up. With an agency — scoping and build fees, which vary widely between vendors.
Meta's charges in Israel, by message type
Since 1 July 2025 Meta charges per delivered message, not per conversation. The rate depends on the message type and the customer's country code. These are the rates for country code 972, from the rate card effective 1 October 2026, in US dollars:
| Message type | When | Israel rate |
|---|---|---|
| Service | A free-form reply within 24 hours of the customer's last message — most of what a bot sends | $0.0053, after 1,000 free a month per number |
| Utility | An approved template for an update or reminder, such as an appointment reminder | $0.0053 |
| Authentication | A verification code | $0.0053 |
| Marketing | A marketing template — a promotion, a broadcast | $0.0353 |
- 1,000 free a month. Meta gives every business phone number 1,000 free service messages a month. They don't roll over, and reset every month.
- The 24-hour window. A free-form reply can be sent only within 24 hours of the customer's last message. Outside it — only an approved template.
- Enquiries from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad. When a customer messages from an ad using WhatsApp's Android or iOS app (not desktop or web) and the business replies in time, a window of up to 7 days opens in which Meta does not charge for service, utility, authentication or marketing messages.
- No payment method at Meta — according to Meta, service messages are delivered within the 1,000 free ones and not after they run out.
- Meta's own agent (Meta Business Agent) is priced differently on the platform: about 4–5 US cents a message according to Meta, with no free messages.
A worked example (ours, from the rates above)
A business with one number that sends 1,500 replies a month: 1,000 free, and on the other 500, 500 × $0.0053 = $2.65. If it also sends 100 appointment reminders as a utility template: 100 × $0.0053 = $0.53. A marketing broadcast to 500 customers, by contrast: 500 × $0.0353 = $17.65. Before VAT and currency conversion.
The platform subscription: what each price buys
Ariko's prices, as on the pricing page, before VAT:
| Plan | Per month | Messages a month | Users |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 200, in the test chat only — No WhatsApp connection | — |
| Solo | $99 | 1,000 | Up to 2 |
| Business | $149 | 1,800 | Up to 3 |
| Growth | $199 | 3,500 | Up to 5 |
| Scale | $399 | 8,000 | Up to 15 |
- Only messages the business sends are counted. Messages customers send you are not.
- When the quota runs out only the automatic replies stop; the inbox keeps receiving messages, and you can reply by hand.
- No setup fee: you build the bot and connect WhatsApp yourself from inside the product. Hands-on setup help is included in Scale, and on the other plans is priced separately by scope and agreed in advance.
- Meta's charges are included in the subscription. We pay Meta for the messages; there is no separate bill and no card on file with Meta.
For comparison, the entry points of international tools, in dollars, as shown on their pages on 13 October 2026: ManyChat — from $14 a month billed annually, by active contacts; WATI — Growth at $59 a month billed annually, with messages charged on top; respond.io — Starter at $79 a month billed yearly, WhatsApp fees not included. Setup fees: what to ask before you sign
With a bot built as a project you usually pay for scoping and building, then a subscription or maintenance. Prices vary widely between vendors, so we don't quote a number here. Instead, four questions that make a quote clear:
- What exactly is one-time, and what is monthly? And what does maintenance include — updating prices and hours too?
- Who pays Meta, and how? Included in the price, or a separate bill?
- Whose name is the WhatsApp account in? And what happens to the number and the chats if you leave?
- Who changes the answers? You, from inside a product — or the vendor, in a queue?
Frequently asked questions
How much does a WhatsApp bot cost per month?
The subscription is most of the cost. Ariko's paid plans are $99, $149, $199 and $399 a month before VAT, and Meta's charges are included. Dollar prices are approximate: the charge is in Israeli shekels (₪299, ₪450, ₪599 and ₪1,199). On platforms that bill Meta separately, the charge on replies to customers is small by comparison: 1,000 a month free per number, and $0.0053 for each reply beyond that.
Is there a free WhatsApp bot?
The WhatsApp Business app's auto-messages are free, but they are fixed text. Ariko's Free plan, $0, lets you build the bot and talk to it in a test chat — No WhatsApp connection.
Does Meta charge for every WhatsApp message?
Only for messages the business sends on the official connection, and only when delivered. Customers' messages are not charged, 1,000 service messages a month per number are free, and in the window opened by an enquiry from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad on the phone app, messages are not charged for up to 7 days.
How much does it cost to set up a WhatsApp bot?
With self-serve sign-up — nothing. With an agency it varies widely; ask for a written quote that separates setup, subscription and Meta charges. Ariko has no setup fee, and hands-on setup help is included in Scale.
Why do prices differ so much between tools?
Because each one prices something different: active contacts, team users, messages, or a project. Compare by what you need — how many enquiries a month, how many people reply, whether you need booking — not by the entry price.
Do I have to pay for a WhatsApp number?
Not necessarily. With Ariko you connect the business's existing number, if it's on the WhatsApp Business app. Solo includes one number, Growth 2 and Scale 5.
